The Right to Life for All

I love history. The history of the American Nation started with an Oligarch of White Male Property Owners. Eventually it developed into a Representative Democracy with Universal Suffrage.

America once was an illiterate Nation that only gave education to the children of the well off . We now have at least an attempt at Public Education for all.

America was once the Defender of Human Bondage but tried to end it with a Civil War. When the South restored it with Segregation for another hindred,  we responded with a massive Civil Right Movement and wrote Freedom for all into the Voting and Working and Community Living laws.

We had Children working in our factories and Coal Miners working 7 day weeks in death traps. We had dangerous Food & Drugs and starvation wages and no right for Workers to Assemble & Petition their Employers. The Great Depression brought us Unions that change the American way of life in the face of Corporate blood fights all the way to Congress.

We had starving people and Seniors living off the meager income of their children and millions who could not pay for Medical care. Now we have Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid.  Although I must remain aware that Radical are fighting every day to turn America into a land of Wage-Slaves with no safety net from disaster.

I truly believe that the US government is inclined to ultimately act in the interest of all the people and not a privileged few. We must continue to resist those who are determined to turn America into a Paradise for Greed and power Source for the Wealthy. We must never loose sight of the power of true Democratic Action to defend the "Rights" of the Everyman.
